AROUND HOMER

Dartmoor and the surrounding area is stunning in all seasons and has fantastic opportunities for everyone to enjoy. You can walk from Homer over the River Tavy, through the village of Peter Tavy and be straight onto the Moors. We are ideally located to explore the coasts of North & South Devon and Cornwall.

A few of the local attractions are detailed below, however inside Homer Barn you will find useful tourist information leaflets and local walks. Alan and Alison are always willing to give advice on local walks and things to do.

HORSEBACK RIDING

Cholwell Riding Stables is a family-run business that has been providing escorted rides and riding lessons on Dartmoor for nearly forty years.

It's just up the road from Homer, located next to the famous 'Wheal Betsy' sliver lead mine, they are perfectly located to ride straight out onto Dartmoor with no need for any road work. This allows you to enjoy your whole ride on the Moor and admire the breathtaking views (weather permitting).
